Shai
Peer is one of the most explosively energetic keyboardists
you'll ever see. His musical odyssey began over 20 years ago
with classical studies at the age of eight, though he was
soon drawn to the rhythms of boogie woogie and honky tonk.
By the age of fifteen he was playing in rock bands as well as
having his blues skills at the Toronto's legendary blues bar
Grossman's almost every night of the week. He studied with Hammond
organ jazz staple John T. Davis, returns to classical studies
with piano Maestro Andrew Burashko, as well as attending both
the University of Toronto and Dalhousie in Halifax.
Over the years
he'd played in dozens of bands of varying styles; blues, jazz,
prog roc, soul,... etc. It
was Peterborough however that he finally found the band that
satisfied his high music standards and matched his dedication,
The Weber Brothers. With whom he's performed over six hundred
times over three years, electrifying audiences with his, as one
writer put it "Manic Piano Talents".
